MICHAEL OWEN NOT HAPPY WITH SOLSKJAER

Manchester United register the happiest week in the heart of their fans as they beat both Tottenham and Man City within one week. The double victories reopened their case for a top four finish. Yet some people remain unmoved by the current result. Michael Owen says Man Utd’s approach to both games showed they won’t be able to compete for the ultimate prize anytime soon given that their choice of sitting back, soaking in all the pressure and hoping for something good to come out of a counter attack is not the most efficient out there.

The former striker’s opinion was aired during the recently conclude Europa League final group stage clash with AZ Alkmaar. According to Owen, the Red Devils could be forgiven for packing the bus against sophisticated opponents like City but that is totally unacceptable against sides of lesser quality.

For the former Liverpool man, United allowing AZ to enjoy most of the possession during the first is an indicator of the confidence level of the squad.

At this point everyone knows Solskjaer is better off doing what his mind tells him. The negative football he is currently being accused of is the kind Mourinho uses everyday and everywhere yet everyone salutes him for what he accomplished at United.

Solskjaer beat him and his Spurs team by the way.

The Red Devils have gone a long time enough that at this point, playing efficient counter attacks and winning the league will be celebrated no matter what.

By beating AZ, they have now made it three impressive results in three consecutive matches and they can only hope that the clash against Everton favors them more than it did Chelsea. The Toffees are undergoing a tough time of their own and Duncan Ferguson can’t wait to inflict pain on any opponent.
