CHELSEA SET SIGHTS ON CHILWELL

Chelsea are interested in Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell. The blues have been heavily linked with the English ace.

The blues have Alonso and Emerson to rely on in the left back position, but Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is believed to favor the transfer of Chilwell as he sees the rampaging left back as an upgrade to what he has on his team.
Ben Chilwell has been in fine form for the high-flying Leicester city who currently sits 3rd in the table. He has scored once and provided three assists so far this season from the left back position.

Chilwell, 23, opened the scoring in the record breaking 9-0 victory over Southampton, and he provided three assists in England 7-0 thrashing of Montenegro back in November.

He was subsequently awarded man of the match award, he posted his award on his social media page and Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard was among those who reacted to the post.

Chilwell is blessed with pace that makes him a real threat with his overlapping attacking runs. He is not short of defensive attributes, as he has been ever present figure in a strong back line under Brendan Rodgers. He is a proven premier League performer and has eleven senior international caps.

The marauding left back is also a transfer target for Manchester United. The Old Trafford sees the England international as the solution to their left back position. Man United have Luke Shaw and youngster Brandon Williams at left back. The latter has suffered from fitness issues while the former has made only 11 league appearances for the club.

Reports have also emerged that Leicester City are planning on offering Chilwell a new contract. They want to make him one of the highest paid in the squad in a bid to ward off potential suitors.
