MANCHESTER UNITED GET HUGE TRANSFER BOOST

Manchester United may have gotten a huge and welcoming transfer boost after recent reports suggest that they could be signing their top transfer target for a cut-price fee this summer. Following the transfer saga of last season where they were locked in negotiations with German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund for the signing of winger Jadon Sancho, the club failed to seal the transfer but are reportedly willing to return for the player this summer.

The Red Devils manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær is a huge admirer of the attacker and expressed his desire to bring him to Old Trafford so he can partner with international teammate Marcus Rashford in the club’s attack, and the club’s director Ed Woodward tried to make the transfer happen.

But Dortmund made their mind clear that they were not going to let the young winger leave on the cheap, then eventually placing a huge £120 million price tag on their prized asset. As negotiations continued, United asked for a significant reduction in the asking price but Dortmund insisted that they were not going to reduce the fee by a single euro.

The transfer window eventually ended and Sancho stayed out in Germany as the transfer died down in the water. Fast forward to a summer transfer window later, the Old Trafford club could finally land their top transfer target after recent reports claim that Dortmund could finally bring down their asking price from £120 million down to £80 million.

It is said that the German club suffered huge losses as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, leaving them in a critical financial position. They could now agree to slash their asking price so they can have enough funds to pursue their own summer transfer targets.
