English Premier League giants Manchester United may have started preparing for the potential departure of their star midfielder Paul Pogba after it was reported on Monday that they were interested in signing Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. The young midfielder is going to be out of contract during the opening days of the month of July and the French Ligue 1 club have been working to ensure that the do not lose him on a free transfer.
Pogba has been linked with a departure from Old Trafford in recent months and having not yet signed a new contract extension with the Red Devils, anything can happen – which is what United want to prepare for so as not to be caught off guard. Rennes president on Monday announced that they have not received any offer yet from any club for Camavinga and states also that they will try to convince the player to sign a new contract this summer.
The president also added that even if the player does not put pen to paper on a new contract, they would try to discuss with him and ensure that he is not allowed to leave for nothing. Paris Saint-Germain have once been quoted to be interested in signing the midfielder but they could be priced out of a move for the French star if United confirm that Pogba will no longer be a Red Devil ahead of next season.
