Manchester United boosted by the return of Valencia

January 28, 2016

Manchester United have been boosted by the potential return of Antonio Valencia, who recently revealed that he is doing well in his rehabilitation process.

The Ecuadorian winger has been a major absentee for United, who have struggled for goals. One of the reasons for United struggling to score goals is the lack of pace up front. Louis van Gaal recently admitted that there was an issue with speed in the team. This could be solved by the return of Valencia, who is one of the fastest players in the Premier League. The former Wigan man is currently on the sidelines following an injury sustained during the Manchester derby back in October.

Valencia recently tweeted that he has been making sufficient progress in order to return to the team. However, Van Gaal admitted that the player may be a good month away from returning to the first-team since he does not have the required fitness now. The Dutchman is stringent when it comes to fitness requirements from his players. It was a major reason behind Luke Shaw, who is one of the world’s most expensive left backs, being unable to feature regularly for United in his first year at the club. read more …

Manchester United is the most disliked club from the entire Premier League

October 2, 2015

Historically, Manchester United is considered to be biggest club as they have won the Premier League title on 13 occasions which is more than any other team. Chelsea are the current champions of England but their recent uprising only started a few years ago when a new owner took charge of the club and started pouring in major cash.

From the looks of it, the number of league titles won makes no difference or impact when it comes to the amount of fans that a club has as Manchester United was voted as the most hated team in the Premier League, this result arrived after a recent poll which was made in the past week.

This poll was made by the British national daily tabloid newspaper The Mirror. Fans were asked which club is their most hated and loved in the Premier League and at the top of the most disliked club was Manchester United while Chelsea came in 2nd place.

At the other side of the poll was the most loved clubs and at the top of this list was located Southampton while in 2nd place was Bournemouth. Swansea City, Arsenal and Everton completed the top 5 spots of this list as the clubs which are most adored in the Premier League.

The results of this poll doesn’t come as much of a surprise as Manchester United is a club which is filled with controversy especially from certain decisions which have been from referees when it comes to home matches being played in Old Trafford.

‘’Fergie time’’ is a phrase that is well known in the Premier League and it refers to a significantly long period of time which was added to the game during matches of Manchester United especially when they were behind in the scoreboard. read more …

Marouane Fellaini played an integral part in the club’s revival in fortunes

June 16, 2015

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini played an integral part in the club’s revival in fortunes towards the end of the season.

The Belgian seemingly was heading towards an exit when Louis Van Gaal took over. After all, he had just completed a very poor first season at Old Trafford and he was widely rated as not being a ‘United type of player’. Amidst all such opinions,Fellaini managed to play a vital role in Unitedreturning to the Champions League. Some of his key goals came in key matches – like against West Brom – when United were struggling to make any impact.

The 27-year-old is at the peak of his career and United are set to take advantage of this physical presence in a big way going forward. The former Everton man finished last season with seven goals from 27 matches. More importantly, he has helped retain the ball in the attacking third of the pitch due to his physical presence.Fellaini, though, sees his future at United transforming into a defensive midfielder going forward. Often players resorted to playing in this position towards the end of their career, but Fellaini started out here and sees himself ending his career in this position as well. read more …

Louis Van Gaal has credited his players for the revival in form

April 18, 2015

Louis Van Gaal has credited his players for the revival in form that they have shown in the last few months. The Dutchman was famous for altering the tactics of United to a unique 3-5-2 system with a number of players like Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young being used out of position. After severe criticism that he faced in the first half of the season, Van Gaal is now basking in the glory of being considered as one of the top managers in the league. His United team have achieved wins over Liverpool and Tottenham when these teams were in form.

This has propelled them towards sealing a top four spot comfortably even with a few matches left. There has even been the talk of a title challenge even though table leaders Chelsea may appear to be quite far away. Van Gaal opened his United account with only three wins from the first 10 matches. They have now achieved four straight victories in the league. Even though the possibility of winning a title looks beyond them this campaign, it will be considered as a hugely successful season if they get into the top four. United have suffered only two defeats in the league since November. read more …
