DEPAY SHOWS OFF HIS HARD WORK

Manchester United player Memphis Depay showed off his hard work on his fitness as the speculations that the winger could be sold this summer increases. The player seems to be keen on staying at the club, despite a disappointing debut season at Old Trafford in the last campaign.

The player who is only 22 years old made the move to the club from PSV Eindhoven for £25m last season. He only managed to score seven goals in 45 appearances for the club. He struggled a lot with form and has been linked with a move away from the club, especially as Jose Mourinho takes over. He was even omitted from United’s FA Cup final squad in May under former coach Louis van Gaal.

The speculations increased when the player was reported to have sent his £100,000 Mercedes G Wagon and £13,500 Scorpion Trike back to his home country, Holland.

Former Holland international, Patrick Kluivert backed him to remain at the club and prove himself, and the forward seems to have taken the advice going by the pictures of his hard work in the gym that he shared on social media. He posted a videon on Twitter on Thursday to show his intense training methods adding a “The hard work never stops” comment.

Depay had the summer break off since his country failed to qualify for Euro 2016 in France, which has kept most of his other team mates busy. Whilst fans would have been forgiven for thinking that the Netherlands would be smart live bets they failed to break down teams in the Qualifying rounds, and ended up slumping out at the hands of Turkey.

In the video, the United forward is shown running on a treadmill, lifting weights and also doing sit-ups and press-ups. His work ethics were questioned many times last season as he showed a number of lacklustre displays, even when the club were set to lose a game.

Mourniho has not made a comment on his future yet but the Dutch man has a chance to fight for his short during the club’s pre-season tour of China in July. The Red Devils are also set to play Borussia Dortmund and cross-city rivals Manchester City in friendly games ahead of the new campaign. Obviously if he doesn’t do well, he might be off to somewhere else.
