37 days to shape the season for United?

Last season I suggested that March would shape our season, but this season, there’s a 37 day window which, once elapsed, I think will make very clear where the destination of multiple trophies is headed!

It all starts this weekend, with an early kick off at Anfield in the FA Cup, a fixture which toppled us in 2005 thanks to a Peter Crouch winner. While participation on all fronts will occur during this period, I think it says it all when our ‘easiest’ fixture is against the rigid and tough to beat Stoke City at Old Trafford.

Trips to Holland back to back in the Europa League to play Ajax will spark such debate, do we go full strength or rest the big players aiming to win the League again? I think, knowing Fergie, we’ll be going to win it!

The frantic schedule will conclude with a match away to Tottenham Hostpur, who I believe will be right up there with ourselves and City come the end of the season. It’s no easy game no matter what way you look at it!

In amidst all of that, we go to Stamford Bridge, welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford and travel away to Norwich in the League. On March 4th, you ask me what trophies United will be lifting at the end of the season and I’d be pretty confident in my answer.

37 days, 8 big games, 5 on the road and 3 at home. Ajax aside, United haven’t lost to any of those opponents all season, dropping points away to Stoke and Liverpool only. Same again and we’re bound to be nicely clear of the pack, surely?
